While he may currently be serving in the military, Super Junior’s Leeteuk made a pit stop with his superior officer at the SBS Entertainment Awards on December 30.
On this day, Boom and Leeteuk were both awarded the Best Entertainment Award. When Boom went up to give his thank you speech, he mentioned that it was unfortunate that Leeteuk couldn’t be there with him to receive the honors.
However, as soon as those words left Boom’s lips, Leeteuk marched on stage, in full uniform, surprising everyone at the ceremony.
After formally addressing the audience and viewers with his real name, Leeteuk added, “While in society, I was active as Super Junior’s Leeteuk.”
Straightfaced and 100 percent serious, Leeteuk thanked SBS for the award and also the Ministry of National Defense for permitting Leeteuk to make it out to personally receive his award.
He also thanked Super Junior and hilariously promoted his musical the Promise, which was created to commemorate the 60th anniversary of the 6.25 war.
“I promise to come back as a better man,” said Leeteuk, hoping for the day when he gets discharged.
